Throughout the eight generations, players and fans have been introduced to a variety of different creatures, each of them resembling different animals, objects, or some other, more abstract, concepts. In this article, we are going to remain in the animal kingdom, as we bring you a list of all the fish-like Pokémon in the franchise.
We are going to list these Pokémon based on their PokéDex numbers and provide you with some basic information on each of them. We’re also going to answer some additional questions about each of the Pokémon. Let us begin!
How many fish-like Pokémon are there?
In total, there are 43 fish-like Pokémon, spread through the current eight generations of the Pokémon series. The upcoming ninth generation is probably going to introduce some more fish-like Pokémon, which is when we are going to update this article, but the current official count is 43. Not all of them are purely Water-type Pokémon as you are going to read in the next section.
List of fish-like Pokémon

Horsea
Horsea is based on a seahorse. His body is light blue. On his head it is worth highlighting his red eyes, the three pointed fins on each side of his face and his tube-shaped mouth. On his body he has a cream colored belly and dorsal fin and a spirally coiled tail. Horsea usually inhabit quiet coral reefs. This Pokémon has its tail coiled and uses it for balance.
Although if the ocean currents get stronger, this Pokémon will anchor itself to rocks or corals with its tail to avoid being swept away by the waters. When they are in a safe place, they start to play and twist each other by the tails. Horsea swims creating whirlpools in its path, and plays with its congeners to see who forms the largest.
On the contrary, if it feels in danger, it will shoot a powerful jet of water, or a dense black ink, from its mouth while fleeing at high speed, driven by its powerful dorsal fin. Seadra

He is always enraged, so he is not very friendly. His hobby is shooting water at any human who comes near him. If he receives an attack with melee contact, the attacking Pokémon will be poisoned. The fins of this Pokémon are extremely sharp.
Goldeen
Goldeen is an elegant Pokémon fish that inhabits numerous rivers and lagoons; but despite his appearance, he is very strong and feisty. It is capable of learning a withering, piercing, knockout attack in one hit. It is called “Queen of the Water” due to its great beauty and its elegant fins that resemble an ornamental fish, known in many countries as “dancers”.
Some people believe that Goldeneen is exclusively female because of her looks, but both females and males exist. They normally travel in schools and love to swim freely in rivers and ponds. If one is put in an aquarium, it will shatter even the thickest glass with its horn and escape. Although it lives in fresh water, its trainer can safely use it in salt water without taking any damage.
It is a peaceful Pokémon, but it will not hesitate to defend its territory against any outsider. Be careful with its powerful horn, and also keep in mind that it is a very fast swimmer. A good tactic to catch it is to get it out of the water: Goldeen is one of the few Pokémon that cannot fight on dry land.
Seaking
This Pokémon resembles, like its pre-evolution, the golden carp. The horn on its head is used to dig its nests, where it lays its eggs, but it is also used to attack those who come close to its family. It is very protective of its eggs, the male and female taking turns guarding their nest and eggs for about a month. The difference between male and female is only visible by the size of its horn, which is smaller in females.

Magikarp
Magikarp, like its evolution Gyarados, is inspired by an ancient Chinese legend known as “Li yu tiao Long men”, five characters that literally mean “the carp jumps over the Dragon Gate”. The story goes that there was a weak and pathetic carp who wanted to prove his worth, so, being very persevering and after much suffering and hardship, he swam against the current and climbed a waterfall (the Dragon Gate).
The gods saw this and, moved by her strength of will, decided to reward her by turning her into a splendid dragon, which proudly flew over the Yellow River. Magikarp is practically useless in combat: it is only good for splashing, and is considered very weak. This behavior led scientists to study them in-depth. All in all, it’s actually a very practical Pokémon. It survives in any aquatic environment, even if it is contaminated.
Sometimes he is able to jump high, but never more than two meters. Some older specimens can jump mountains with a splash, one of the few uses of the movement. In a certain region of the Pokémon World, championships are held where Pokémon trainers test the Magikarp’s jump height. This Pokémon jumps and splashes for no reason. He is easy prey for Pidgeotto, who catches him mid-jump.
Gyarados / Mega Gyarados
Gyarados closely resembles a sea dragon, like the Chinese dragon. Chinchou
Chinchou is a Pokémon that lives in very deep and dark waters, for which it developed the ability to communicate with its kind through light signals generated from its apparent antennae with the help of bioluminescence and electricity techniques. They are not really antennae, they are tentacles, one charged with a negative pole and the other with a positive pole.
They are also often used to attract prey, from small Tentacool to huge Seaking. Chinchou’s two antennas are filled with cells that generate powerful electricity. They create such a quantity that even the Pokémon itself feels a certain tingling. Whenever it feels threatened, it launches underwater electrical attacks with which it seeks to stun its enemies.
When they are in packs, the Chinchou are capable of combining their electrical attacks to generate much more powerful rays. The Chinchou are very cheerful and playful, so they are easy to manipulate, but they can also have serious consequences.
They normally live at the bottom of the sea, but it is known that they can walk on land with their small legs, although it must be taken into account that they dehydrate very quickly, so they cannot last long out of the water. Chinchou’s antennae can generate a large amount of luminescent energy that looks quite a sight on the surface of the water, this is one of the reasons why some expert coordinators are desperately looking for Chinchou to add to their team.
Lanturn
Lanturn, also called “the star of the bottom of the sea” or “star of the high seas”, is based on an abyssal fish, more specifically the hook fish with which it shares a resemblance physically, as well as its hunting behavior and its habitat. , even so, part of his inspiration refers to cetaceans. It has a curious antenna that branches into a large one and a very small one, which light up; at the end of the antennas, it has two orbs, which contain a colony of bacteria that generates a chemical reaction that ends up producing electricity.
Lanturn thus emits its own light, with which in addition to illuminating its path, when several of these Pokémon come together it seems that the bottom of the ocean is the starry sky, it also blinds or confuses its prey. It is a Pokémon that lives mainly in the depths of the ocean where it feeds on other aquatic Pokémon, hunting up to 5 kilometers deep. It often competes with Lumineon for food in the deep sea.
Qwilfish
Qwilfish is based on a puffer fish. It is a spherical shaped fish with swollen pink lips and has spikes all over its body. Qwilfish’s body is blue on top and a slight light green on the bottom. It lacks fins, having only a large, flat, light green tail with a blue tip and markings. Qwilfish drinks water and swells up, then uses the pressure of the water it has swallowed to launch toxic spikes throughout its body.
This is his natural defense, and his most characteristic attack, pin missile. The more his body swells, the more power and speed his attack will have. Also, if the skin comes into contact with these spikes, it becomes irritated. Apparently these spikes evolved from scales. Due to its round shape, it is a very poor swimmer.
Another defense mechanism of Qwilfish is to swallow more than ten liters of water and expel it to quickly move away towards a current of water. They also use this mechanism to outgrow their predator and intimidate it.
Remoraid
Remoraid is a peculiar fish, it usually lives attached to a Mantine. When Remoraids are young or too large to be on Mantine fins they tend to roam in large groups. Although they always depend on someone, be it a Mantine, an Octillery, or another Remoraid, to lead the group in which they live, they treat their trainer with great respect and do not hesitate to obey him.
He can use Ice-type attacks to make sculptures because he likes them. It also fires a stream of water and can hit a target up to a distance of approximately 100 meters. It does this to knock down unsuspecting flying insects, similar to the Archer Fish, which is why its natural enemies are Surskit and Masquerain. Remoraid moves by taking water into its mouth and expelling it through its gills to gain speed.
Among the most curious things about this Pokémon is that when it evolves it undergoes one of the most marked transformations since it goes from being a fish to being a mollusk (a cephalopod). Also, it does not retain any physical characteristics with its evolution (unlike the other Pokémon species); it doesn’t even retain the same color and even their names have no familiarity. The only thing that keeps this species is that it is still a water type.
Mantine
Mantine is based on a manta ray. It can swim at high speed thanks to its flattened shape and the large contact surface of its fins. It is usually accompanied by Remoraid, which acts as a cleaner fish. It is a fairly calm Pokémon, however, when it comes to protecting its family or friends, it will charge with its entire heavy body.
Curiously, even being one of the heaviest Pokémon, if it reaches enough speed in the water, it can fly up to 100 meters high (although it doesn’t really fly, but jumps very high and flaps its fins creating the illusion of flying). that flies). To descend, it uses the air currents because its enormous weight would make it plummet. The spots on its back resemble eyes, which it uses to intimidate other Pokémon and avoid predators.
Kingdra
Kingdra is based on a common sea dragon, which is a relative of the seahorses, animals that Horsea and Seadra are based on. He does not lower his guard even when he sleeps near coral reefs, since his snores form powerful eddies capable of drowning anyone who approaches. Specimens have been found with a long age, some with more than 300 years.
That’s because they are, in part, dragons. Although his character is very unpleasant and antisocial, once in possession of a trainer he is a very good Pokémon and gets along very well with him, making him very faithful and reliable and greatly improving his character in relation to the other Pokémon.
He never fails his coach. Both its horns and its fins seem to be made of coral, since they end in crooked points like the branches of the Corsola. Kingdra are carnivorous Pokémon that hunt prey in the wake of storms. Since they have no predators, they hunt small sea Pokémon.
Carvanha
Carvanha is a medium-sized fish with huge, powerful jaws and rough, tough skin that deals damage to its enemies. They usually live in schools of more than a hundred individuals and tend to attack in groups and in an extremely violent manner, having even caused shipwrecks. However, they become shy and skittish when they are alone, so it is better to wait for this moment to try to catch them.
It is an extremely violent Pokémon, even more so than its Sharpedo evolution. At first, it inhabited the rivers of tropical jungles, but they ended up spreading to the sea. Carvanha swims as fast as an arrow, as well as being totally silent in the water. For this reason, he is especially adept at preparing ambushes for his enemies. Its bite is known to be so powerful that it is capable of piercing through solid steel.
Sharpedo / Mega Sharpedo
This aggressive Pokémon lives in areas such as seas and small coral reefs and sometimes infiltrates rivers where its pre-evolution lives. There are accounts from fishermen that a Sharpedo destroyed their boat. Possible testimony, as Sharpedo has been seen on the docks of coastal cities destroying ships and small boats.
Sharpedo’s physical appearance is that of a great white shark with sunfish features. Sharpedo has large jaws and a thick and robust skin that is characterized by being composed of small pointed scales that are rough to the touch. These scales are so rough that they damage Pokémon that come into contact with Sharpedo. Curiously, these scales do not harm those who Sharpedo does not want to hurt, such as his trainer.
This effect is similar to that of Ponyta and Rapidash’s flames. Sharpedo have always been seen solitary and are considered large marine predators, on very rare occasions a group of several specimens has been seen together but it is believed that it is only to make a coordinated attack on gigantic schools. After this, they each return to their solitary lives.
Wailmer
Wailmer has the appearance of a baleen whale with a spherical shape and no tail, on the upper part it is dark blue and on the lower part it is tan with grooves, it includes two fins that have finger-shaped appendages, plates with baleen that resemble teeth and a hole in the top of the head; however, due to its characteristics, it could be considered that it is more of a calf, its evolution being really an adult whale, Wailord.
In warm climates, where it’s sunny, he likes to go out and play on the beach and bounce around like a ball. But if he is treated with love he becomes very affectionate and will defend his trainer in any situation.
Wailord
Wailord is based on a blue whale, the largest known animal, and a blimp. Wailord hunts with other members of his species. It is spectacular to see how they jump and splash in the water to group their prey, it is really impressive to see how they impact the water. These jumps can reach a considerable height and with them, he can knock out his opponents with the impact of his huge body when falling.
If not hunting in a group, Wailord swims with his mouth open to let in as much food as possible. With their tremendous mouths, they can gobble up entire banks of Wishiwashi in one gulp. Due to their voracious appetite for fish, anglers are forced to control their numbers if they overgrow. The Sharpedo often stalk the Wailmer, and then the entire Wailord bank bands together to protect him. The Dhelmise, on the other hand, are Wailord’s main enemy, being able to knock one out with a single whiplash.
Barboach
Barboach is based on a pond loach. Barboach has sensitive whiskers that serve as radar to locate prey, even in the murkiest waters. This Pokémon submerges itself in mud, leaving only its whiskers above the surface, lying in wait as it waits for its prey to arrive. This has given rise to certain legends that Barboach was born from hardened clay. The whiskers also contain nerve endings, which allow them to pick up odors and taste food as if they were a human nose or tongue.
Barboach is completely covered by a viscous and slippery film. If caught, it can easily slip away, allowing it to escape the clutches of Bird Pokémon trying to catch it. Whiscash
Their main habitat is lakes as they love the mud at the bottom. Like its pre-evolution, it is a Ground and Water type, making it immune to Electric-type attacks. Despite not having limbs and being considered a fish, they have the incredible ability to survive for a long time out of the water, and can even move from one lake to another, crossing large areas of land. As it evolved, its whiskers have lengthened and changed color, now being yellow. These are used to detect small vibrations in the water, these vibrations are useful for detecting enemies and prey. It is said that in this same way this Pokémon has the incredible ability to detect earthquakes before they occur. Another incredible thing is that many consider that they can live for more than a hundred years and for this reason you can find gigantic specimens. Perhaps this is why you can find Whiscash in very large sizes and others that are very small.
They are extremely territorial with other Pokémon and humans. If his territory is attacked by an enemy, he will not hesitate to protect it until it reaches a critical state, usually using powerful earthquakes as an attack. They feel, like many Pokémon, attracted to shiny things which they keep in their mouth or in their nest, so it is better not to take anything shiny to places where there is a possibility of finding this Pokémon, since recovering something is extremely difficult.
Feebas
It is a Pokémon with the ability to live in both fresh and salt water, so it has a very large adaptation system. However, it is an easy prey due to its slow movements. As all its Pokédex entries describe it, it is considered the ugliest Pokémon of all, this goes so far that not even scientists pay attention to it, however, its Milotic evolution is the most beautiful Pokémon of all.
They live in ponds and rivers with a large amount of algae, which allows them to develop easily, and to reproduce; this compensates for their easy prey characteristic for Pokémon like Swellow and Pelipper. His way of capturing is totally unusual, novel, difficult, and complicated. The way to evolve is also new, going up a level when its beauty is very high, so it is easier to reach that degree of beauty.
Although it is an apparently weak Pokémon, Water-type trainers and those who use Pokémon for beauty contests look for it, since its evolution is considered one of the most beautiful Pokémon in the world. It has a great resemblance to Magikarp, both are weak fish and very difficult to train (due to their few attacks) it is compensated in their evolutions, powerful and suitable for both Pokémon battles and Pokémon contests.
Milotic
Milotic is a long, aquatic, snake-like Pokémon with a body, which is predominantly cream in color. He has large red eyes with a long pinkish antenna over each of his eyes. It has long fins above its eyes that look like hair, and get bigger and bigger. They extend up to half of its body, and are longer in females than in males. At the top of its relatively small head is a straight spine.
He has three slits on the back of his neck, probably his gills. Her lower body is covered with a hexagonal pattern, blue and pink, surrounded by black. Its tail consists of four blue and pink fins. The fins of its tail overlap slightly, which is reminiscent of a fan. Milotic scales are said to change color depending on the point of view.
Huntail
Huntail’s habitat extends across the bottom of southern, warm seas. It lives at very great depths, into which no sunlight can penetrate. Gorebyss
Gorebyss’ habitat extends across the bottom of southern, warm seas. Its body is adapted to the enormous water pressure at great depths. The South Sea Pokémon is considered to be very graceful due to its bright color and its elegant, beautiful swimming style, but it has a cruel side.
It rams its thin mouth into the body of a victim and sucks out the body fluids, which are filtered in his mouth. It lets the lifeless remains sink to the bottom, where they are eaten by other deep-sea Pokémon. Seaweed on the seabed is also on his menu.
Relicanth
Relicanth is based on a coelacanth, a fish that was believed to be extinct for millions of years and can be considered a true living fossil. Relicanth has a soft body but its face, scales and fins are hard and rough and are usually filled with algae. This, together with a thick layer of fat, allows it to withstand the enormous pressure of the water in the depths of the ocean. Relicanth usually move along the seafloor using the front flippers, similar to legs.
Two red dots on his body are also noticeable. It was once believed to be extinct, but was accidentally discovered while exploring the seabed. As such, Relicanth belongs to a species of Pokémon that hasn’t changed form for more than 100 million years. Its natural habitat is in underwater caves or abyssal pits. This Pokémon, not having teeth, feeds on microorganisms present in the deep areas of the sea.
Luvdisc
Luvdisc is based on both a heart and a discus fish. Luvdisc live in shallow tropical waters, usually on the coral reefs of warm seas. Sleeping among the branches of the Corsola is something quite common, so it is not strange that they make them their nest. During spawning, multitudes of Luvdisc concentrate on the coral reefs, coloring the water pink.
When a Luvdisc is alone, its energy decreases, and its guard is lowered, a moment that the Pelippers take advantage of to take them over. Luvdisc symbolizes love and romance due to his habit of swimming behind the loving couples he sees in the ocean waves. This has led to the belief that the partner you meet will maintain a love relationship for life.
In some places, there is even an ancient custom of giving a Luvdisc as a gift to express loving feelings. Their presence is also common in hotel pools where honeymoons are held. Legend has it that one of its heart-shaped scales brings luck in love, which led to its overfishing long ago.
Kyogre
Kyogre is shaped like a cetacean of colossal proportions. Biologically it is based on both a Glaucus atlanticus and an orca, since it even has white spots on the head area. Mythology-wise, it seems to be based on the Leviathan, a mythical sea creature. He is part of the creative trio with whom he shares a physiological trait: the marks on his body.
Finneon
Finneon is one of the most elegant and beautiful Pokémon there is. It is even called the Beautifly of the sea as it has a beautiful tail in the shape of butterfly wings. Finneon lives mainly in fresh and salt waters, it is somewhat shy and difficult to find. It takes a reliable rod and a good fishing spot to get one.
They are solitary in fresh water, small families hide in caves and other requirements of the aquatic relief, but in the sea they are seen in huge schools. Whoever goes to the seas near the coasts and spends some time appreciating the water will notice that the glow of a Finneon’s tail shines regularly, since if it is exposed to the sun a lot, the drawings on its fins glow in the dark.
Lumineon
Lumineon is the evolution of Finneon. Its shape and that of its fins make it very special and elegant for competitions. It is quite smart and difficult to catch, it can have wind attacks because its fins work like wings that create gusts of air just by shaking them.
Many scientists claim that the light blue edges on Lumineon fins are due to light-sensitive cells coated with an ice-like substance that acts like a magnifying glass, making light absorption and emission greater. Additionally, Lumineon emits sparkles from the light blue edges of its fins. These flashes are caused by the neon in the Lumineon’s fin cells.
Mantyke
Mantyke, it could be said, that he glides through the water, taking advantage of the currents, rather than actually swimming. It probably feeds by filtering the water while letting itself go. She detects sea currents with the help of her antennas. It can make small jumps out of the water.
The drawings on its back are characteristic of the area, which suggests that family groups are closed and individuals do not usually migrate from one place to another. Its color is perfect to protect itself from predators in the ocean, if it is going to be attacked from above you will see a large face that will scare away most predators, if it is attacked from below, the white color of its abdomen will make it go unnoticed with the help of the sun’s rays.
Basculin
Basculin is based on a sea bass and a piranha with very sharp fins. Basculin is a very aggressive and violent Pokémon. Specifically, the Basculin with the red stripe and those with the blue stripe get along fatally and if one of a different color enters the territory of the other, they will not stop fighting until one of them is badly injured in the confrontation. Basculins of the same color tend to group together in schools.
The violence is not only intraspecies, so in the lakes where a bank of Basculin appears, due to the illegal introduction of specimens, only Corphish or Crawdaunt that inhabit the bed are able to stay. Scientists who have studied the reason for the color differences between them have not reached any conclusive results. In the Hisui region, a new species of these Pokémon is present endemically, which is called the White-Striped Basculin.
This form, unlike the other species, has a placid character and does not usually engage in fierce battles like the other types of Basculin. In the absence of further investigation, it has been theorized that the White-striped Basculin is merely a Hisui regional form of the other species, as it exhibits identical physical characteristics to Basculin from other regions.
Alomomola
Alomomola is based on a sunfish. Her body is shaped like a pink heart with fuchsia details. It has large fins on the top and bottom, which it uses as wings to flutter when it jumps into the sea. Alomomola lives drifting in the open sea. It has a special mucous membrane that covers its body and has the effect of healing wounds. It gently hugs injured Pokémon with its fins and heals their wounds with the help of this membrane.
If it comes across a seriously injured Pokémon, it hugs it and carries it to shore. Many Water-type Pokémon swarm around it for this reason. Fishermen always take it with them on long voyages, because having an Alomomola they do not need medicine or doctors.
Tynamo
Tynamo is based on an electric ee. Tynamo has a mechanism that generates electricity and releases it when in danger. However, the electrical power of a single Tynamo is scarce, but when they gather in groups, that power becomes so powerful that they generate large shocks. They use their levitation to get away from predators. Due to the attacks of said predators, there are usually very few specimens separated from groups, making it a fairly rare Pokémon and difficult to find. They live in dark and quiet caves.
Eelektrik
Eelektrik is based on a fusion between a lamprey and an electric eel. The circular markings on its body are the organs where electricity is produced. After surrounding his rival, he supports these marks on him and releases electricity with which he is stunned. He also uses electricity from him as a defense mechanism. It is a very voracious Pokémon, attacking large numbers of prey on a daily basis. After paralyzing them with its electricity, it deals a large number of bites.
Elektross
Eelektross is based on a lamprey and an eel. This Pokémon lives mainly in seas, but it is able to emerge to the surface and stay there for a while. When it goes up to the mainland, it uses the fins that it has under its body to move as if they were legs. This allows it to attack prey that inhabits the coast. Normally it usually sticks the suction cup of its mouth on its prey and electrocutes it with a large shock, sinking its fangs into it. Then, once they are unconscious, he drags them to the ocean, where he gives them a good account.
Stunfisk
Stunfisk is based on both a flounder and an electric ray, as well as an electric trap. Stunfisk has a flat, light brown body, outlined in a darker brown. His tail and an exclamation mark on his body are yellow. It has a pair of fins that it uses to swim in the water or flutter in the air. Like all flatfish, its two eyes are on the upper part of its body and it also has a mouth in the shape of a cream-colored rounded beak. The Stunfisk inhabit coastal wetlands or swampy areas.
It stalks its prey hidden under the wet sand of the beach. When someone unsuspecting gets close enough, it paralyzes them with an electric shock. This electricity is due to an internal organ where there are special bacteria that live in the mud. The reason is unknown, but Stunfisk smiles faintly as he releases powerful electric shocks through the yellowed areas of his body. When it fails to paralyze its opponent, it flexes its body to escape by jumping at high speed. Stunfisk’s skin is very solid and he is able to take a stomp from a sumo wrestler without flinching.
Skrelp
Skrelp is based on a sea dragon. This Pokémon uses its unique silhouette by camouflaging itself as a seaweed to protect itself from larger Pokémon, while accumulating energy to evolve. Skrelp takes the form of rotting seaweed, and when unsuspecting prey swims near where it lies, it releases its venom to immobilize it. Their main food source is rotting algae. Its ability to swim leaves much to be desired and it constantly rolls up in the algae instead of moving forward. In the Alola region, it is often seen among the Dhelmise algae.
Dragalge
Dragalge is based on a leafy seadragon. It indiscriminately attacks anyone who dares to enter its territory. They are very feared Pokémon and their territorial areas are under constant danger alert. Ships that enter its territory are said to disappear and never return to port, as the poison Dragalge produces is so toxic that it can corrode even ship hulls. It hides among the algae and waits for its prey, which it sprays with its powerful poison. In fact, it spits poison at all rivals that come near it. However, for some strange reason, he gets along very well with the Dhelmise.
Wishiwashi
Wishiwashi is based on a sardine, a species of fish known for grouping together in large schools. At just 20 centimeters long, a Wishiwashi is quite small and puny. Even so, the locals of the Alola region consider it terrifying: Being small and weak, it joins other members of its species to take the form of a much larger individual, thus achieving an intimidating effect and managing to ward off larger Pokémon.
Because of this, the seemingly fragile Wishiwashi is known as “the Beast of the Sea”. When Wishiwashi’s companions receive a distress signal, they heed the call and join in this massive battle formation.
Bruxish
Bruxish balances the marine ecosystem by being the natural predator of the Mareanie. This colorful Pokémon emits powerful psychic energy from the bulge on its head, giving its opponents terrifying headaches and causing them to lose consciousness. When it generates this energy, it gnashes its teeth, and hearing the shrill noise, surrounding Pokémon sense the danger nearby and immediately flee.
In the Alola region, lifeguards let Bruxish swim around the area to prevent more dangerous Water-type Pokémon from coming ashore, as Bruxish are Pokémon feared even by Sharpedo themselves. Bruxish digs holes in the seabed to hide, exposing only the protrusion of the head. This acts as a radar, emitting a faint stream of psychic energy, and when Bruxish detects prey, it launches into an attack.
Arrokuda
Arrokuda is based on both a dart and a barracuda, a fish known for its speed in swimming and its ferocity in attacking its prey. He is very proud of his sharp jaw. As soon as it detects the slightest movement, it goes straight to the target to charge at it. Although he tends to overeat and by filling his stomach, he loses his usual agility, which makes him easy prey for the Cramorant, who use it to launch him as a projectile in combat.
Barraskewda
Barraskewda is based on a barracuda, a skewer, and an underwater torpedo as it uses its tail fin as a propeller to propel itself and move underwater when hunting. His jaw is as sharp as a spear and as hard as steel. It spins its tail fin to propel itself and lunges at prey, which it skewers at speeds exceeding 100 knots. Its meat is surprisingly delicious and highly valued in haute cuisine.
Arctovish
Its strange design is based on the first interpretations that paleontologists gave to fossils found in the same site, or with a lack of bones in the site, which were wrong and physically incorrect, as can be seen in the Crystal Palace of Bromley, a place in England in which there are many cases of erroneous fossil formations. Arctovish’s upper part is based on a Dunkleosteus, while the lower part is based on a Plesiosaur.
Arctovish has skin on his face so tough that he is able to withstand any attack. It catches its prey by freezing its surroundings, but the position of the mouth above the head makes it difficult for it to swallow it. This practically prevents the intake of food. This position of the mouth also causes difficulties in breathing, which ended up causing its extinction.
Basculegion
Basculegion is based on both a black sea bass and Legion, a biblical demon made up of a multitude of spirits. Basculin evolves into Basculegion when possessed by the souls of other Basculin in his bank who couldn’t make it through their tricky journey upstream.
He obtains power from the souls that possess him and thanks to them he is able to swim without rest, Basculegion fights alongside these souls that attack the opponent as if they were governed by his own judgment. It is very short-tempered, as the moment this Pokémon feels the slightest bit of hostility, it goes into a rage and attacks ruthlessly until it defeats its foe.
Overqwil
Overqwil is based on a hedgehog fish and a diademed urchin, a variety of sea urchins that were very abundant in Japan until a disease wiped out almost 90% of their species, referring to the fact that today There are no Overqwil. Overqwil is a round Pokémon covered in huge poisonous spikes. The upper half of its body is black and the lower part is off-white. It has a rounded black and white tail with a capital Q-shaped mark on the back.
Several areas of its body are deep purple, such as some of its spikes on the top, its mouth, and the Q-shaped pattern on its tail. Overqwil has the nickname “The Demon of the Seas”, due to his violent character and the lethal aspect that the spikes that cover his body give him. It is capable of absorbing poison and using it as food sustenance.
